Learn-to-Sail Clinic

Presented by: River Cities Community Sailing Program and Metro Parks

When: Saturday, June 14, 2008
Choice of Sessions: Children 1 to 3 p.m or 3 to 5 p.m. - Adults from 1 to 4 p.m.

What:
A free learn-to-sail clinic for Children 9 to 18 years old and Adults.

Cost: Free

There will be two identical children's sessions, one from 1 to 3 p.m., the other from 3 to 5 p.m. The first hour of each session the children will learn about parts of a sailboat, how wind moves a sailboat, a few nautical knots and some nautical terminology. The second hour the children will go sailing aboard a 25-foot or larger sailboat.

For the adults, there will be a single three hour session, which will run from 1 to 4 p.m. The first two hours attendees will be introduced to sailing in a land-based presentation. The third hour, the adults will spend an hour sailing on the Ohio River aboard a 25-foot or larger sailboat.
