The Louisville Sailing Club has been invited by Ben Fussenegger to join with the Cruising Club / Derby City Sailing Club this coming Tuesday evening for their monthly meeting.

Neal Deaves who usually heads up our club's winter meetings suggest that we combine with them for this month. The speaker which they have secured will address many of the issues that concern our understanding of the Ohio River.

This month their speaker will be Mr. Eugene Dowell A. LRL from the Louisville Division of the United States Corps of Engineers. Mr. Dowell will speak from the Corps prospective on the subjects of water safety, Corps missions, purpose of Locks and Dams, how locks and dams operate and who has authority on the river (Coast Guard vs. Corps of Engineers).

The Cruising Club/Derby City Sailing Club share with us the same interests about river levels, currents, debris and snags as they vary on the river and impact our activities.

The meeting will be this Tuesday, February 9th, at Knights of Columbus. Happy hour will begin at 6:30 with dinner to be served at 7:00 and the presentation will be at 7:30.  The cost of the dinner is $12.00. There will also be a full bar.

If you want to join the group, please RSVP to Commodore Charlie Cox as soon as possible.
