Sailing on Hold
May 27, 2011
The LSC calendar calls for this to be the first weekend of sailing. Someone forgot to tell the Ohio River that the beginning of the sailing season starts Memorial Day weekend.
The river will continue to remain about three or four feet above normal pool level. Needless to say, it will be impossible to clean the driveways and hang the hoist until the water goes down. Since there will not be any sailing this weekend, it will be a great time to get the boats in top shape for the sailing season.
When washing you boats, please do it away from the club house and road to minimize the amount of mud in those areas. Bring the family or friends down to the club for a picnic. There is a couple of Weber type grills that survived the flood and the picnic tables are in place. Or, stop at Subway and bring a sandwich. Have a great weekend.
Memorial Day – Remember all those who have been here before us and made our life possible.
