And They Are Off…

The club will provide hamburgers, hotdogs and beverages (beer, wine and soft drinks) and we will ask everyone attending to bring their favorite picnic food to share.  So that we plan appropriately, please RSVP to Kieth Kenitzer if you plan to attend with the number of folks attending.  That way we will have enough burgers, dogs and drinks for everyone.

The river is almost in its banks.  Hopefully, we can get the floating dock in the water, wash off the lower dock and launch the pontoon boat Saturday.  If we can get this done, we will have a “Practice Weekend” on the water.  There will not be an assigned duty crew, but fleets can set their own marks for practice racing.  We will begin keeping track of weekend racing June 7th and 8th.

 Sunfish racing will begin Tuesday, June 3rd at 6:00.

Email Issues

Thanks to Joe Burch, our Web Master, for doing all the trouble shooting to solve emails not being delivered to our LSC distribution list. If your LSC mail is going to your spam folder the problem can usually be resolved by adding LSC@SailLouisville.org to your contact list or address book so that the email program recognizes it as a legitimate address.

Equipment Identification

In a continuing effort to manage the boats stored at the club and discover which boats are abandoned, we need to identify the current membership’s boats. When invoices were sent out stickers were attached.  They have the year, 2014, and your invoice number. Please put one on the starboard bow of each boat, just below the rub rail;

the other goes on your trailer - right side or top of the hitch fitting.  If you have a sail stored in the club house, use one for the sail/mast, near the step.  If you need stickers for your boat, contact Eugene Cox.

It is also a good idea to paint your name on your cradle.  When the mud crews have to quickly get boat off the lower dock when the river is rising, there is no time to make sure all cradles and boats are matched together.

It is almost time to publish the Louisville Sailing Club annual directory.  Please take a head shot of yourself email it  (You will know it was received if you get the message “This email address does not respond to your email”.)  It has been suggested that we use Herman Munster or Phyllis Diller to be placed in all the blank picture holders.  We need these pictures immediately.
