The 2012 Louisville Sailing Club directories are now available.  Thanks to Fanny Timmer for putting it together.  Pick up the one with your name on it.  They are located downstairs of the club house.  If any of the information is incorrect, send the correction to eugene.cox@insightbb.com .

Very large flying insects were discovered Sunday as the lawn service was mowing the grass.  They look like a very scary insect that could create a severe sting.  A professional exterminator was call to treat the area.  He says that the insect does not sting.  Hopefully, the treatment will have eliminated them by this weekend.

Several boats are being launched at the LSC boat ramp.  Please be aware that there is a lot of moss that is very slippery below the water level.  Also, the ramp ends at the sea wall with a six inch curb.  Beyond that, there is an eight foot drop.

Boat Maintenance

Be to use the tie downs for all boats located on the bottom level.  If your boat damages another boat because of a wind storm, the boat’s owner is responsible for the damage.  Be sure to label your boat trailer, cradles, sails and any other property stored at the club.

Pictures and Stories

If you have pictures and stories to share with the club, send them.

Crew Bulletin Board

At the spring LSC meeting there were several people that indicated that they were willing to crew. If you are willing to crew, or if you are in need of crew, email your name. Please indicate if you want to crew on Saturday or Sunday. Keep in mind that most skippers are in search for someone that is committed to sailing almost every weekend.

Geoff Albe 954-263-7837 is interested in crewing.

470 for sale

About 35 years old. I have kept it in a pole barn for the last 20 years because we have had a company to run, kids, and ailing parents, so I haven’t been able to engage one of my passions. The hull and hardware are in reasonably good condition. Some of the sails probably need replacing, just because they have been sitting so long. At this point, I would like to sell it. I think the cost would be around $1,250. It has a trailer, too.  If anyone is interested, please contact Paul Perkins cell is 502-693-3004.
