Big Fun In Small Boat Sailing!

Current Conditions

June 08, 2012
WOW! Twelve Lasers were on the starting line Sunday. Three Highlanders sailed with full crews. Winds above ten and eighty degrees, does it get any better?

Thistles followed last year’s champion around the race course. Twelve Sunfish, one Butterfly and two Lasers showed up Tuesday evening. With the winds at ten to fifteen it was a great night for the boys to follow the girls around the marks. The best part of all the events was the war stories and the friendship that was shared at end of the day.

Free Learn-to-Sail Clinic:

The River Cities Community Sailing Program is a non-profit organization that teaches children and adults how to sail. The Program is hosting its 16th Annual Free Learn-to-Sail Clinic at Cox Park on Saturday, June 9 from 12:30 to 5:00. If you know anyone who is interested in sailing and wants to learn more about it, tell them about the clinic.

If you would like to help with this event, please email Rodger Kennedy or visit www.saillouisville.org/rccsp

Racing Schedule:

– Saturday, 2:15 Thistles
– Sunday, 11:00 Lasers

Hot Water:

A new hot water heater was installed at the end of last year. It has a timer on it to conserve energy. The water should be hot Saturday and Sundays. There is an over ride button if there is an event during the week. After the over ride button has been activated, the water will remain hot until night. It take about twenty minutes for water to heat in the tank.
