He brought with him many samples of modern sailcloth and had examples (those little sails) of construction techniques Being limited to around 20 minutes he flew through everything he could then opened it up to one on one questions at the end.
Christine concluded the evening and Greg and I were swarmed by sailors, he was taking questions regarding design and shapes while I was standing by the little sails answering questions mostly about materials and construction. By the time we were finished we got to catch the end of the nail biting basketball game where the cards pulled it off in 2nd OT.
The evening was not over for some of us opting to go over to Dundee Tavern and have a few post meeting drinks. Greg regaled us with sailing stories and some not so sailing stories.
All in all I am sure Tony, Ben, Rosie, and myself had a fun time relaxing with Greg. That feeling was mutual, on the way home Greg was telling me how nice everyone was down here and that he was blown away by the depth of sailors around here. He never thought that he would see the numbers of sailors that he did, and I even told him it was a bit light. We both had a great time that night which made Greg’s 7:45am Flight a bit on the early side. No worries, he made it and was on his way back to Cleveland before his eyes fully opened.
All in all, great evening, I would like to thank Christine who is doing a great job. I would also like to thank all of you that attended for the great support and excellent questions. For those of you who requested quotes I am trying to get through them all, If you have not received anything by the end of the week, please drop me a line.
Fair winds,

Nothing like hot lasagna, drinks and talking sailing when it is cold and snow still covers much of the ground. The meeting on Feb 17th had a lighter turnout than most, thanks to our beloved UofL Cardinals, but that did not mean that it was light on content. After some drinks and dinner our new Commodore, Christine Taylor (Phoenix Rising), got the business part of the meeting going, including recognizing our past commodores and presenting gifts to the outgoing board.
