A look at our history and purpose, our present emphasis and activities.
THE FUNCTION AND PURPOSE OF THE DERBY CITY SAILING CLUB (DCSC) is to assist and encourage its members in the ownership and use of sailing vessels. Encompassed in its mission is the promotion of cruising, racing, and daysailing; with the general admonition that sailing is meant to be a fun, safe activity, and our club will endeavor to promote those activities throughout our duration.
Conceived in 1974 and later established in 1976, the DCSC provides social entertainment and educational information to its membership and the general public through cruises, racing, meetings and seminars.
Membership is open to all, regardless of whether one owns a boat or not. Dinner meetings with guest speakers are normally held once a month during the off season. Annual memberships number just under 100.
Whether you're interested in racing or cruising, or whether you're a skipper or wanting to crew, we hope you will consider joining us. For more information contact us by visiting our webform page.
